Since october 2026 – all of Pia Frankenberg’s films on SOONER
SOONER, the streaming platform for independent cinema, currently features all of Pia Frankenberg’s films.
“Pia Frankenberg’s films exist beyond clear certainties. What matters are not the observations about our world, but the world as it reveals itself to us in all its chaotic complexity.
In retrospect, her films are distinguished by the fact that they tell stories rooted in their time without elevating themselves above the events, situations, and experiences of their protagonists. They are documents that have retained their relevance through their engagement with the circumstances of their time and find in this an approach that is as personal as it is political.”
